Two popular Louth restaurants shortlisted for €100,000 Just Eat Awards

‘Independent Restaurant of the Year’ will be awarded to the restaurant that secures the highest number of public votes across its individual category and overall.

Louth food lovers have plenty to celebrate as two local favourites, Sitar Indian Restaurant & Takeaway in Dundalk and Il Forno in Drogheda, have been shortlisted in the 12th annual Just Eat Awards.

Recognising the restaurants, grocers, and retailers that people order from most across Ireland, the awards shine a spotlight on the county’s thriving food scene, from neighbourhood independents to internationally inspired flavours.

With categories ranging from Best Indian & Nepalese to Best Pizza, Louth’s nominees are in the running for a chance to be crowned Independent Restaurant of the Year and take home a €100,000 prize fund to grow their business in 2026.

‘Independent Restaurant of the Year’ will be awarded to the restaurant that secures the highest number of public votes across its individual category and overall. In addition to the title, the winner will receive a €100,000 prize fund, offering a powerful platform to build brand awareness, reach new customers and take their business to the next stage.

Voting for the 2025 Just Eat Awards is now officially open, and food lovers across Ireland are encouraged to support their favourite by casting a vote. Every vote submitted will also be entered into a draw to win free Just Eat for a year.

Commenting on the announcement of this year’s awards, Amanda Roche-Kelly, Managing Director at Just Eat Ireland, said: “Ireland’s food scene is in a strong place, even though restaurants are dealing with rising costs and ongoing pressures across the sector. What stands out is the effort and care that goes into every order, from the food itself to the service people experience every day.
