Dundalk set to rise with the launch of The Great Dundalk Bakeoff

Open to amateur bakers of all ages and experience levels, the Bakeoff will kick off on Saturday, 7th June 2025

Ready, Set, Bake! The town of Dundalk is about to turn up the heat as it launches its first-ever Great Dundalk Bakeoff – a community-wide celebration of baking talent, local flavour, and good old-fashioned fun.

Open to amateur bakers of all ages and experience levels, the Bakeoff will kick off on Saturday, 7th June 2025, at the Bellurgan Park. From classic soda breads to creative cupcakes and show-stopping cakes, contestants will battle it out for the coveted title of Dundalk’s Star Baker.

Organised by the Dundalk Food and Drink Society in collaboration with Dundalk Agricultural show, the event aims to highlight the vibrant food culture of Louth, while bringing people together for a sweet celebration of community spirit.

“We wanted to create something that truly brings Dundalk together,” said Sarah Jane McGrath, Event Coordinator. 

“The Great Dundalk Bakeoff is more than just a competition – it’s about celebrating creativity, culture, and connection. Whether you’re a seasoned baker or just starting out, we welcome everyone to join the fun.”

  • Local celebrity judges and guest chefs
  • Finale and Awards Ceremony on Sunday 8th June
