There was a brilliant atmosphere in Oriel Park last Wednesday night as our WU17 and WU23 players spent the evening with former Ireland international and FIFA Puskás Award nominee Stephanie Zambra.

Stephanie began the session indoors with a relaxed and honest chat about her journey in the game — from being a young player with big ambitions, to becoming a full-time professional and representing her country on the international stage.

She spoke openly about the proud moments in her career, but also the setbacks and challenges that come with chasing your goals.
A big theme of the discussion was mindset — building strong daily habits, staying consistent, and learning how to deal with disappointment. The players asked great questions, and the conversation was engaging from start to finish.

After the workshop, it was time to get out on the pitch with the WU23s. The session was sharp and competitive, but there was plenty of laughter too.
Stephanie demanded high standards while keeping things enjoyable, and the group really responded to it.

To round off the evening, the coaches presented Stephanie with an away jersey signed by all the girls as a thank you for giving up her time.
Most importantly, our players loved the experience. Having someone who has been there and done it — and who is willing to speak honestly about the journey — is invaluable as they prepare to start their seasons in the coming weeks
