Dundalk FC head north to kick off their Premier Division campaign against Derry City tonight at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium at 7.45pm .
Last week's postponement at Tallaght Stadium delayed the Lilywhites curtain raiser, as Derry off the mark with a win over Sligo Rovers.

In recent league meetings between the sides, Derry won the last encounter at Oriel Park 2-0 in October 2024, after 1-1 stalemate at the Brandywell in August 2024, and a 0-0 scoreless draw at Oriel Park in May 2024.
In team news, new Lilywhites signing Tyreke Wilson comes into the side, while Leo Gaxha continues his recovery from injury.
TJ Molloy and Seán Spaight are away on international duty with the Republic of Ireland U17's in Spain for two games against Hungary, Harvey Warren serves a suspension, and Norman Garbett faces a late fitness test.
Speaking ahead of the game, Dundalk manager Ciarán Kilduff said: "We are excited to test ourselves on Friday night against Derry City. They are obviously a team that we have a lot of respect for.
"We see the investment made at Derry City, with James McClean and other top players arriving, and it is a real statement of intent. But we don’t fear any team in this division, and we are going to back ourselves as we always do.
"Derry got off to a good start with three points at home to Sligo Rovers, while we were a bit deflated following the postponement of our match with Shamrock Rovers.
"Anticipation is building now, and we want to make a good account of ourselves. The stage is set for a great game. We have trained and prepared well, and we are hopeful that it will all come together.
"The staff and players are ready to go, and we are looking forward to kick starting our season on Friday night.”
Dundalk attacker Gbemi Arubi added: "From the perspective of the players, coaches and staff, we are in this division to compete. Everyone has a positive outlook going into the season. We want to push as high up the table as possible.”
Declan Toland has been named as the referee and will be assisted by Darragh Keegan and Niall McLoughlin, and Michael Connolly as the fourth official.
