Dundalk Golf Club Men's
Team Tesla will take a commanding lead into the final week of the Dundalk Golf Club Precision Cables Winter League after shooting the best score on Week five.
They were inspired by captain Brendan Keane, who led from the front with 32pts, and the in-form Aidan Gaughran, who continued his good winter form by top-scoring with 33pts. Brian Gaughran with 31pts and Kenneth Cairns with 32pts were their other scorers.

Their overall weekend score of 128pts was six better than the next best total. It brought them to 613pts for the first five rounds and saw them extend their lead at the top of the Winter league table to 24pts over Team Hyundai.
Team Hyundai head the chasing pack on 589pts. They picked up 119pts in round five, with Noel Mc Guinness their top scorer with 33pts followed by Cathal Connolly on 31pts.
Team Mercedes now lie in 3rd place by themselves on 581pts with David Kelly contributing 36pts to their total of 117, which was the top individual score among those competing in week 5 of Winter League.
Week six, the final week of the Precision Cables Winter League, takes place next weekend (January 31 and February 1). The presentation is planned for Sunday, February 8, at 2 pm, following a shotgun start team event in the morning.
The draws for the 2026 Golf Ireland and Leinster Golf inter-club competitions have been published.
In the Senior Cup, Dundalk have received a bye in the first round and will be away to Balcarrick in the second round.
After receiving a bye in the first round of the Barton Shield, Dundalk have been drawn away to the Leinster North holders, Co. Louth, in the second round.
In the Junior Cup, Dundalk will face St Margaret’s in the second round after getting a bye in the first round. There was a first-round bye for the Jimmy Bruen Shield team, but they will face neighbours Greenore in the second round.
The Pierce Purcell team are away to Luttrellstown in round one, while the Irish Mixed Foursomes team are home to County Louth in the first round, and the Mixed Fourball team are away to Balbriggan in the opening round.
In the Barton Cup, a first-round bye has left Dundalk awaiting the winners of Seapoint and Ardee in the second round, while there is home advantage for the Leinster Trophy team in their first-round tie against Laytown & Bettystown.
For the third successive year, the Senior Inter-Club team have been drawn away to County Louth in the opening round, while the Leinster Fourball team will meet either Co Louth or Greenore in the second round.
Best score of the weekend was the 40pts recorded by Division Four category winner Conor Murphy (18), who just edged out Division 3 winner Simon Ryan (14) for the weekend bragging rights.
Ryan had four points to spare in winning his category from William Burke (18), who shot 36pts while Ryan’s 39pts was four better than Davy McDonnell (15) in Division Three.
Division One was won by Conor Murray (8) with 33pts, one better than Brendan Keane, while in Division Two, David Kelly (11) shot 33pts to win by two from Frank Byrne (10).

Week three Ladies Spring League 14 Holes Stableford competition played on Saturday 24 January 2026. Eighteen Ladies played on Saturday.
Due to the inclement weather, Tuesday’s competition was cancelled. Overall winner - Laura Kilboy (18) 29 pts; Runner Up- Joanne Lynch (25) 28pts.
