Week eight of the Heineken-sponsored Dundalk and District Dart League saw a number of hotly anticipated games taking place. Division Two pacesetter,  The Phoenix, had a 5-1 win over the closest challengers, The Northend Cobras.

Commercial 26ers also had a 3-3 draw with Northend Bullys, with Kieran McCrave winning the final game of the night for the Bullys.

In the Premier Division, big wins were secured for The Avenue Inn, Big House Eagles, The Commercial Club, Corbetts Craicheads, Commercial Classics & Uncle Tom's Sparrows.

Also, a special mention to young Aaron Coyne of The Commercial Club, who hit a 12-darter in his team's game against Callans HBX last week. Aaron took out a 161 checkout to finish the game. Well done, Aaron.

This week's Quiz, the Captain is Fintan Rogers (The Phoenix Bar)

What darts do you use: Michael Bully Boy Smith 24g

Best dart memory: Getting to the Final in the Bridge Inn many, many years ago. Beaten by Philip Donnelly (RIP) to play Phil Taylor in an exhibition at the Derryhale Hotel. I beat a Louth player in the semi-final; he was disgusted.

Favourite player: Phil Taylor and Gerwyn Price

Most difficult opponent: Brian McArdle Flinty

Favourite opponent: Stephen Shields

Goal in darts for the season: To win something for The Phoenix Dart team for all the support Colin O'Connor does for our two teams.

One for the future: Martie Lee.
