Auto Assure Clancy Cup - quarter-final

Tuesday, 29th July: Muirhevnamor FC 3-5 Carlingford Celtic – Muirhevnamor Gill's Park

The large crowd were treated to an outstanding cup tie, which had eight goals, excellent football from both sides, and fast-paced endeavour throughout, all combined to produce the match of the season so far.

Eddie Duffy put the ‘Ford ahead from close in after 15 minutes. A low shot from Micky O Kane levelled matters in the 27th minute.

A Sean Conlon daisy cutter free kick on the half hour put the home side ahead. Just before the break, Peter Shields drew the sides level at 2-2. In the 52nd minute, Eddie Duffy scored from an acute angle to put the visitors ahead.

A brilliant move by Carlingford on the hour mark was finished to the net by Peter Sheilds to put them 4-2 ahead.

Undaunted, Muirhevnamor hit back when a sublime through ball from Micky O Kane was dispatched by Steven Ferguson to set up a great fight back by the cup holders, now trailing behind by just a goal.

As the clock ticked into the added time, Carlingford were awarded a penalty, which Joe Dunne dispatched to seal a great win in a memorable match.

Tuesday, 29th July: Bay FC 7-0 Redeemer Celtic – DkIT

In a very one sided match, Bay dominated from start to finish. Star of Bays' big win was William Opoku, who scored his second hat-trick of the season.

Colm Bracken grabbed a brace to put him into the double figures with 10 goals, to top the scoring chart. Liam Reid, with his third strike this term and Maylon Berdague, with his first goal, completed the rout.

Wednesday, 30th July: Haynestown Celtic 1-6 Square United – Carrick

In the first 45 minutes to forget, Square broke the boredom with a goal just before the break, scored by James O Connor.

The same player extended Squares' lead five minutes into the second half. On the hour mark, Ross Gaynor picked a defender's pocket to score an easy goal to make it 3-0. Five minutes later, Dwayne Markey netted a very good goal for Haynestown.

As the home defence lost all confidence, Arthur Sands, with one goal, and Michal Szostakowski with two, wrapped up a semi-final spot for Square.

Wednesday, 30th July: Carrick Rovers 6-3 Rampart Celtic – Carrick

Rampart Celtic, who fell from an unbeaten club, took a nosedive with this big defeat to Carrick, adding two draws in their previous outings in the league.

Carrick's scorers were Ryan Marron with two goals, Jack Carolan, Sean OG, Steven O'Rourke and Keane O Reilly each with one strike.

Aidan McGuinness, with his sixth goal this term, Steven Becley and Martin Locke made up the Ramparts reply. Carrick joins Carlingford, Bay FC and Square in the Clancy Cup semi-final draw.

FIXTURES

Tuesday, 5th August: Redeemer Celtic v Square United. Muirhevnamor Astro Pitch. Kick-off at 8.10pm.

Redeemer Celtic will face Square United in the DDL. The two teams have played one match against each other, with Square winning that game.

Looking at their recent performances, Redeemer Celtic has been struggling with a string of losses, including a recent 7-0 defeat against Bay FC.

Wednesday, 6th August: Carlingford Celtic v Muirhevnamor FC. Foy Centre. Kick-off at 7.30pm.
