Buses and minibuses will not be permitted to enter the village.
A major policing operation will be in effect in Carlingford this Easter Sunday, with Gardaí set to implement a series of strict measures aimed at maintaining public order and safety in the popular north Louth village.
The annual Easter Sunday operation will see multiple Garda checkpoints on all approach roads to Carlingford, as well as within the village itself.
Sergeant David Kenny, alongside his local team, will lead the initiative, supported by additional Garda resources from Dundalk.
As part of the operation, a Section 21 Order under the Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act will be enforced.
This grants Gardaí the authority to seize alcohol from individuals found carrying it in public places.
Buses and minibuses will not be permitted to enter the village.
Those travelling by such means will be required to disembark at designated checkpoints.
Passengers must dispose of any alcohol in bins provided before proceeding on foot into Carlingford.

Gardaí have also issued a clear warning that carrying open containers of alcohol is strictly prohibited. Any such items will be confiscated on the spot.
The measures are part of ongoing efforts to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for both locals and visitors during one of the busiest weekends of the year in Carlingford.
Gardaí are urging the public to cooperate fully with the restrictions and to plan their journeys accordingly.
