Community service for man caught dangerous driving in Louth

Dundalk Courthouse

A 23-year-old man has been sentenced to 120 hours community service at Dundalk district court, in lieu of a six month sentence for dangerous driving.

The solicitor representing Lee Molloy of Bolies, Castlebellingham told Judge Nicola Andrews last Wednesday that the case had previously been adjourned from Ardee district court as a Probation report was awaited to confirm if her client was suitable to perform community service.

Judge Andrews also placed him under a 24 month Probation bond and disqualified him from driving for four years and imposed a €1,500 fine and second four year disqualification for driving without insurance.

Both offences were committed at Tinure, Dunleer on January 27th 2022.
