A number of vehicles were seized by Gardaí in Drogheda over the weekend after being stopped at crime prevention checkpoints.
According to a post by An Garda Síochána Louth, all of the vehicles were seized under Section 41 of the Road Traffic Act, which allows Gardaí to confiscate vehicles being driven without insurance.
The drivers involved will now be required to appear in court.
Gardaí said the first two vehicles stopped were found to have no valid insurance.

A third vehicle was being driven by an unaccompanied learner driver and was also found to have no insurance, tax or NCT.
