An Garda Síochána in Louth have announced additional patrols across the Lordship and Cooley Peninsula areas this Halloween night, continuing until 7am tomorrow morning.

The increased Garda presence aims to ensure that the local community enjoys a safe and peaceful Halloween, with officers taking a zero-tolerance approach to antisocial behaviour.

Gardaí are also conducting checkpoints and engaging with motorists, particularly heavy goods vehicle (HGV) drivers, to stress the importance of safe driving through Lordship and surrounding areas.

Checkpoints will be moving across the peninsula throughout the night as part of the wider effort to maintain safety and order.
