A woman who repeatedly struck a man on the head with a glass in a Chinese takeaway, and was involved in a separate mugging, was jailed at Dundalk Circuit Court last week for a total of two years and seven months.
Danielle Dullaghan, 28, with an address at the time at Earls Court, Armagh Road, Dundalk pleaded guilty to assault causing harm arising out of the first incident at Golden Chopsticks, Park Street, Dundalk on April third 2022 and was also sentenced for a robbery onto the pedestrian pathway between the Avenue Road and Dublin Road on June 1st last year.
The assault victim had been sitting on the window of the takeaway, waiting on his food order, when the defendant broke a glass over his head.
While he remembers 'pumping blood' a witness had seen Danielle Dullaghan strike him with the glass a number of times.

There was blood on her companion's jacket, when gardaí stopped them further down the street, and a knife was found when she was searched.
She had no previous convictions at the time, but four had been recorded since then.
In the second incident, an Indian national studying at DkIT, was cycling home from work in Dundalk Stadium when he was dragged off his bicycle and the defendant was one of two women who searched his backpack, his bank card was subsequently used to order food in two fast food outlets on the Dublin Road.
The court heard the mum of two had a troubled background and significant addiction issues, having begun taking cannabis in her teens, before taking benzodiazepines and heroin, although she is now on a methadone treatment programme.
She was assessed as being at high risk of reoffending, but has started school since her bail was revoked and she was remanded in custody on April eighth.
Judge Dara Hayes imposed sentences totalling three years and nine months and suspended the final 18 months, backdated to when she entered custody.
