Father-of-five fined for driving without reasonable consideration

A father of five who drove onto a grass bank to get around gardaí who had stopped a car, pleaded guilty at Dundalk district court last week to driving without reasonable consideration.

The court heard Andrew Maguire (32) with an address at Knock Shee Close, Old Golf Links Road, Blackrock had been told to wait at Woodland Park, Dundalk on July 29th last, after he pulled up behind the stationary vehicle.

His solicitor explained that the entrance was blocked and his client had no patience.

Judge Nicola Andrews told the defendant "be patient" and imposed a €250 fine saying "luckily no one was injured".
