Woman (37) appears in court in connection with Louth hit-and-run
A 37 year old woman has appeared before Ardee District Court charged in connection with an alleged hit and run in County Louth.
A cyclist in his 40s who was found seriously injured on the R132 on Monday evening, remains in a critical condition at Beaumont hospital.
Gagandeep Kaur with an address at Adamstown, Dunleer is accused of failing to stop her vehicle and offer assistance following an occurrence at Mooretown, Dromiskin on January sixth.
Garda Conor Hegarty, who gave evidence of arresting her at Drogheda Garda Station at 9.16pm yesterday, told the court that when the charge was put to her after caution the defendant replied "I agree with the charge".
After a contested bail hearing that was heard in private, Judge Stephanie Coggans remanded the defendant on bail to Ardee District Court on March 14th for the directions of the DPP.
The bail, of a cash lodgement of €5,000 and an independent surety of €10,000, is subject to a number of conditions including a daily signing on requirement and the defendant surrendering her passport and all travel documents.  
Judge Coggans also directed that the defendant supplies a mobile phone number to gardai on which she is contactable at all times. Ms. Kaur must also provide proof of a permanent address and notify gardaí in advance of any change of address.
