New Elf Post Office set to add extra festive magic to Skypark’s Adventure Lights in Carlingford
Adventure Lights at Skypark Carlingford is already lighting up the winter season, with visitors flocking to experience its dazzling light trail since opening in late October.
Now in its second year, the illuminated adventure has quickly become a must-see winter attraction in the Northeast, transforming Skypark into a glowing wonderland of light, colour, and festive magic right through to January 3rd.
Families, couples, and groups have been exploring the Legends of the Forest — a magical world featuring over half a million lights, 16 illuminated displays, and an expanded Kids’ Adventure Zone.
“The response so far has been absolutely fantastic,” said Edward Fuller, General Manager at Skypark.

“It’s been wonderful to see so many families coming from across Louth, Meath, Down, and beyond to enjoy the trail.
“We’ve had amazing feedback — people are loving the new features and how completely different it feels from last year.”
Among this year’s highlights are the glowing Ireland’s Ancient East Maze, the high-flying Skynet at Night, and the interactive Magical Light Trail, where visitors can wander through tunnels of twinkling lights and shimmering sculptures.
Young adventurers have been enjoying free face painting, festive treats, and playful surprises hidden along the route.
And now, Adventure Lights is set to shine even brighter with the arrival of its brand-new ‘Elf Post Office’, opening 21st November.
This charming new feature adds a touch of festive enchantment to the trail, inviting children to step inside, write their Christmas wish, post it in the magical Elf Post Box, and pick up a special treat when they return their completed trail map.
It’s also the perfect spot for a festive family photo, a memory filled with Christmas cheer.
“Adventure Lights is fast becoming a tradition for so many families,” said Thomas McArdle, CEO of McArdle Adventure Group.
“It’s not just about lights; it’s about creating a sense of magic, togetherness, and community in Carlingford.
“We’re proud to see it bringing people into the area and supporting local businesses during the winter months.”
Surrounded by over 500,000 sparkling lights, dazzling animal-themed features, and delicious food stalls serving crêpes, donuts, wood-fired pizzas, and firepit s’mores, visitors can enjoy a truly magical night under the stars.
All activities, including the Elf Post Office, are included in the ticket price.
With weekend dates already booking up fast, visitors are encouraged to plan their trip early.
Adventure Lights is proudly supported by Fáilte Ireland and Louth County Council.
Adventure Lights at Skypark, Carlingford runs from October 25 to January 3, 2026 with the Elf Post Office opening on November 21.
