Marist to hold Strictly Come Dancing night

A Meet and Greet night was held recently to promote a major fundraiser for St Mary’s College Dundalk.

The college is planning a Marist Strictly Come Dancing evening.

It will take place at the Fairways Hotel on 18 May.

Rehearsals are already under way and the school is buzzing with excitement.

Some friendly rivalry has already emerged as everyone gets into the spirit of things.

Teachers, students, parents, past pupils and friends of the college, have all signed up to what promises to be a night of mighty craic.

Among the attendance at the Meet and Greet Night were: Ciara Sheridan, Bernie Deery, Clíona Lambe,Leanne McDonald.

Elizabeth McNulty, Karla Doran, Gerry Lambe, Patricia Begley, Con McGinley, Elizabeth McNulty, Karla Doran, Richard McGee, Olivia McGee, Conor Rafferty, Karen Thornton, Derek Maguire, Yvette Dance, Kim Keogh, Vincent McGrory, Emma Walsh, Barry Dunne.

Also Denyse Hughes, Scott Watters, Cassandra Flood, Clíona Lambe, Leanne McDonnell, Louise Duffy, Gareth Weldon, Con McGinley.

In 2011 the school celebrated its 150th anniversary.

At that time it was announced that the famous St Mary’s College playing fields will be the site for the new school building.

There are over 600 hundred pupils attending the school at the moment but health and safety regulations have restricted the intake for pupils for some time.

The new building will open up new potentials and allow the opportunity to cover new subjects.
