NEST (North East Sustainable Tech) said it is proud to announce a new sustainability training series launching this September which is designed to support local businesses and entrepreneurs in integrating climate-conscious practices into their day-to-day operations.
“This initiative aligns perfectly with our mission at NEST — to not only support sustainable enterprise, but to equip our community with the knowledge and tools to lead on climate action,” said Karen Duffy, Centre Manager at NEST.
“The training is made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Ardee Credit Union, a valued community partner supporting innovation and resilience in the region.”

The programme will cover practical topics such as:
- Practical strategies to reduce energy use and lower carbon footprints, with easy-to-implement actions for homes and businesses
- Introduction to green energy generation, including solar, wind, and other renewable technologies
- Overview of available funding and grant supports, helping participants identify financial incentives and assistance for sustainability projects
- Foundations of biodiversity, explaining its importance and simple steps to enhance local ecosystems
The training is free of charge and will be open to local SMEs, community organisations, and NEST-based enterprises.
NEST is a sustainability enterprise centre based in Ardee, Co. Louth, with a mission to support the development of climate tech, green enterprise, and circular economy solutions in the northeast.
The centre offers flexible office and production space, business support services.
Full registration details for the sustainable training series will be released in early August.
