Typically, it takes two to three hours following an outage for normal supply to return
Uisce Éireann has said it will carry out essential maintenance on the water network in the mid Louth area, requiring a planned water outage from 9 pm on Wednesday, 17 September, until 3 am on Thursday, 18 September. The disruption may affect over 5,000 customers in Blackrock, Haggardstown, Castlebellingham, Dromiskin, and surrounding areas.
The works may result in supply disruptions in Blackrock, Old Dublin Road, Golf Links Road, Rock Road, Coast Road, Seafield Road, Cocklehill Road, Haggardstown, Earlsfort, The Loakers, Marlbog Road, Chapel Road, Mooretown, Commons Road, Dromiskin, Dromea Road, Castlebellingham and surrounding areas.
Uisce Éireann’s Sinéad Kennedy has assured affected customers that crews will complete the works as quickly as possible to restore normal water supply. “We acknowledge the inconvenience caused by a planned outage and we thank customers in advance for their patience while we carry out these essential works.”
Typically, it takes two to three hours following an outage for normal supply to return. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network. When water supply returns some may notice discoloured water.
"In the event of discolouration, running the cold kitchen tap for several minutes - we recommend up to 20 minutes - will usually restore the water to a clear colour.
