Newest Dundalk Brass Band recruit Artis
Dundalk Brass Band is striking a new note this season with the launch of a recruitment drive for musicians in the local community.
Their newest member, Artis, is a perfect example of how music can bring people together. Just last year, Artis was in the audience at the band’s popular Music in the Park event. Inspired by the performance, he decided to dust off his instrument and rejoin the world of brass music.
Originally from Latvia, Artis had been a keen brass player before moving to Ireland for work. After several years away from music, he made the leap to get involved again and is now proudly playing in the euphonium section.
Now, the band is hoping more musicians will follow in his footsteps. They are encouraging former players and newcomers alike to consider picking up their instruments once more.
“If you have played brass or woodwind instruments before and are looking to start playing again, or maybe you have just moved to this area and want to continue playing.
