Ireland's National Dance Company brings new work to Dundalk's An Tain

REVERB is a high-energy, celebration of dance, music and legacy

Ireland's National Dance Company brings new work to Dundalk's An Tain

This production sees Luail’s dancers perform to live music on stage

This September 19th, Luail – Ireland’s National Dance Company brings REVERB to An Táin Arts Centre, Dundalk. REVERB, a powerful collaboration between choreographer Sarah Golding and multi-instrumentalist Lisa Canny, combines intense physicality with spellbinding vocals and composition, exploring how our actions echo through time and leave their mark.

This production sees Luail’s dancers perform to live music on stage, creating a world where movement and music are one. Composer and musician Lisa Canny (BIIRD), leads the musicians and dancers on harp and vocals, becoming the “disco ball” of the show, reflecting and refracting sound with dynamic effect. With Canny’s signature mix of traditional and modern sounds driving the dancers, every beat tells a story, blending past and present in a raw, emotional experience. Get ready for a performance where rhythm lives, tradition breathes, and every moment and movement resonates.

As part of this year’s Culture Night celebrations Luail and An Táin will collaborate to present a special dance workshop led by company dancers Clara Kerr and Seán Lammer for members of the local community. This is an opportunity to get to know Luail –  Ireland’s National Dance Company, and to explore ideas and movements from REVERB.

Clara and Seán will share elements of their personal dance journeys—Clara from a Festival Irish Dance background and Seán from classical ballet—and how those influences now shape their work in contemporary dance with Luail. The session will invite participants to explore movement and music from REVERB and reflect on how different dance backgrounds and experiences can come together in a shared creative space.
