'Legally I'm married to your Dad's dead sister' - Viewers react to hilarious Late Late Show
Viewers have been reacting online to Friday night's Late Late Show which had a host of fantastic Irish talent celebrating TradFest as well as the show-stealer comedian David Nihil.
Ireland's biggest selling comedian in the US David Nihil joined Patrick Kielty on the show last night and his appearance has been a big hit online amongst its viewers.
While chatting with Kielty, Nihil told a hilarious story about his mother being "the first lesbian in Ireland to get married."

The comedian said he was discussing gay marriage with his parents when his mother responded: "Nothing new to me. I was the first lesbian in Ireland to get married." Nihil then said: "I was like, did Dad know about this?"
Nihil went on to explain the story of how his parents could not find his father's birth certificate when they got married but instead used his dead sister's: "But we had his dead sister's Patricia's. We knew the priest didn't have the best eye sight so technically and legally I'm married to your dad's dead sister."
The story was met with roars of laughter from the audience in the studio and has clearly had a similar effect for viewers at home.
One person wrote on X in response to Nihil's tale: "Now, that's how to tell a story... Class..."
Another said: "You can't make this up!"
With his hilarious storytelling being praised and shared online, some said they needed to tune in to the repeats to hear him in full: "I must catch-up on this at some stage!? RTE player!"
Of course, TradFest was the heart of the show last night with talented musicians taking to the stage to celebrate the fan favourite special show.
From touching tributes for the late Barney McKenna of The Dubliners and Johnny Duhan to lively performances of much loved folk tunes, viewers at home lauded the brilliant performances on the night.
One person shared on X: "I really thought the #latelateshow was past the point of rescue before tuning in tonight but there is renewed hope now! Back to basics please. More trad, more real life issues please."
Another said: "Fabulous. Outstanding powerful quality of good talent. Unbelievable."
Someone else chimed in to say: "Lovely to hear young Irish youth keep the traditions going!"
TradFest was a major hit with the audience but it seems the political discussions towards the end of the show with Ivan Yates and Matt Cooper failed to hold the viewer's attention to the same degree.
One person said: "Not a bad show but you should have kept it Trad the whole way through. The last segment was a waste of space. Who cares what they think about Trump or Musk?"
