Gardaí have seized a substantial quantity of drugs and arrested two individuals during an operation in County Louth
As part of Operation Tara and ongoing investigations targeting drug distribution networks and associated criminal activity, Gardaí have seized a substantial quantity of drugs and arrested two individuals during an operation in County Louth yesterday, 28th April.
Shortly after 11:00 PM, Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit in Drogheda stopped a van in Ardee, recovering cocaine valued at over €200,000. The driver, a man in his 40s, was arrested and taken to a Garda station in County Louth, where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
In a follow-up search of a home in Ardee in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, 29th April), Gardaí recovered cannabis valued at over €190,000. A second man, aged in his 50s, was arrested and is also detained at a Garda Station in County Louth under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

All of the drugs seized are subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).
The investigation is ongoing.
