In the first half of the game, both teams were evenly matched, exchanging scores throughout. For the most part, it was nip and tuck, with St. St Brides getting off to the better start thanks to points from Senan Hoey and Steven Hoey.
St Brides enjoyed a three-point advantage heading into halftime; however, Barry O’Hare brought the game back to the minimum when he converted a long-range two-pointer, leaving the Brides two points ahead at the break.
The hosts kicked three points on the trot early in the second half, but this was cancelled out by a goal from Paul Carroll in the fifth minute.
The decisive score came in the tenth minute when a well-worked move ended with the ball being fed to Neil Thirman, who dispatched it to the Roche net.
This gave the Brides a four-point cushion, and they did not look back, knocking over a number of scores in the third and fourth periods.
Roche Emmets were awarded a late penalty following a foot block late in the game, and Daire Reilly successfully sent the ball to the Brides’ net.
However, time was against the visitors, and St. St Brides ran out four-point winners to progress to the semifinals.

St Pat’s took the early lead with a point from Sean Holland before James McGlew and Sean Fearon fired over twice for their respective sides.
It remained nip-and-tuck for much of the half with Martin McEneaney (2p) on the mark for Pats, while Matthew Flanagan replied for the hosts.
However, the only goal of the half came the way of the Fechins as Ronan Holcroft’s effort cut the deficit to 0-10 to 1-6 at the break.
It was a similar start to the second half with the Pats claiming the only score, point, in the first ten minutes through Joe Connor. Fechins went on the attack, and Ronan Holcroft was heading for goal when he was pulled down in the square.
He convincingly converted the subsequent penalty to get his second major of the match.
The Pats stayed in touch with three more points in the remaining quarter, including an effort from Aidan McCann, but scores from Matthew Flanagan, James McGlew, Sean Keane and Aaron McGlew (2p) gave the home side a comfortable four-point win and a spot in the semi-final against St Brides.

That treble came on the back of a strong first half showing that ended with Rovers leading by 13 points and well on the way to victory.

James Rogers scored the opening goal of the game as Rovers went in at the break with a 1-13 to 0-2 lead as Jamie O’Callaghan landed five points along with scores from Donovan Sheridan, Aaron Levins and Glen Matthews.
O’Callaghan added a goal to his tally in the second period while Ciaran Russell and Sam Scott also found the net to seal victory.
