'Songs With Friends' is set to arrive at An Táin Arts Centre on Friday 13th of November with Louth musicians and singers taking part.
Louth musicians and singers are set to present 'Songs With Friends' at An Táin Arts Centre in Dundalk.
The show will take place on Friday 13th of November and is hosted by Dundalk singer/songwriter and musician Sinéad McNally.
Inspired by the warmth and comfort of local singing circles and seisiúns, Sinéad decided it was time to round up a host of local talent and share the genuine, raw love of music and songs on a bigger stage.
When Sinéad put the idea out to musician and singer friends, there was an immediate and resounding yes and over the past few months, they have been extremely busy creating a concert that they are really excited to share.
Audience members are encouraged to sing along with beautiful songs such as ‘Rainy Night in Soho’, ‘Grace’ and songs by modern Irish bands like Amble and Kingfishr.
A selection of original songs will also be played throughout the night.
The musicians taking part include singer and pianist Sinéad McNally, fiddle and flute player Roisín Crawley, five string banjo and guitar played Micheál O’Brien, flute and whistle player Bronagh Needham Sherlock, banjo, fiddle and accordion played Aaron Madigan, singer Olive Curran and all the way from the west of Ireland, Brendan Duignan on vocals and guitar.
The evening will also feature a singing group of thirty children who will perform ‘Nearly Christmas’, Sinéad’s original Christmas song that reached 250,000 streams this year.
And the backdrop on the stage on the night will feature images from popular Facebook page Dundalk Photos.
Darran of Dundalk Photos said: “It was an honour that Sinéad asked to use some of my photos as the backdrop for her music on the show.
“I’m really looking forward to the performance by her and her friends.
The concert begins at 8pm on Friday 13th of November. Tickets downstairs are sold out but balcony seats are still available through the box office at the theatre or www.antain.ie
