The Frostival Winter Festival kicked off the Christmas season in Dundalk over the weekend.

On Saturday, 16 November the hugely popular Christmas Markets and Mini Fun Fair officially opened at Market Square. Later that day, families also gathered to see some favourite childhood characters in the animated live children's show Toy Box Wonders.

The highly anticipated Carnival of Light parade illuminated the streets of Dundalk on Sunday, 17 November, with large crowds showing up to witness the festive spectacle.

Then, of course, the main man himself Santa Clause made a special appearance for the official Christmas Light Switch-On countdown!

Take a look at some pictures from the amazing event captured by Arthur Kinahan.
