A look ahead to the seven races at Dundalk Stadium this evening

There’s a further all-weather meeting at Dundalk Stadium today, with seven races across the evening. There are two maidens and five handicaps to look forward to and racegoers can expect a typically competitive fixture.

Read on for a preview of and tips for the Dundalk card from BOYLE Sports, who have the horse racing odds. First is a five-furlong two-year-old maiden (17.30).

There are a few newcomers here, with some nicely bred individuals among them, such as Spotswood and Pure Power. They wouldn’t need to be superstars to win this race, but they are up against some useful sorts.

Southern Boulevard is a useful filly who has remained consistent and stands as good a chance as usual, while Monologue has shown plenty in two runs so far and he is the one to beat form stall one.

Next is a five-furlong handicap (18.00). Blue Anthem could be handy on the same mark as last time, with five pounds in hand this time from his claiming rider.

Bye Bye Now is in first-time cheekpieces, which may help, and should be competitive on this mark. She is also given five pounds by her rider, is nicely drawn and is a reliable sort.

The third race is a six-furlong handicap (18.30). Topweight nine-year-old Big Gossey would outclass the rest on his best form in Group company, but he has been below form lately.

This will be much easier for him, but there are some good young horses coming through that will ask him a big question. Chicago Call’s mark might be low enough to win now, and he is worth thinking about here.

Race four is a mile maiden (19.00). There are two newcomers; Subtle Shade and Little Miss Rock, of which the former is probably the best.

Aidan O’Brien’s Lookingforarainbow is possibly the best of those with form, but is now a maiden from five starts and, despite a decent rating, she has yet to get close. Palace Fever, who was sort of room on debut, might be the best choice.

A mile handicap follows (19.30). Daler is on the same mark as when he finished third of 13 over course and distance last time out and has a much kinder draw this time around.

Drawn innermost is Flame Of Forest is on a tempting mark now and steps back down to a mile, which might be more suitable. He looks interesting here, while Art Gallery could get into a place at least.

Second to last is another mile handicap (20.00). Go Out stays on the same mark as when a close second over seven furlongs here last time, and should be able to repeat or better the form from a slightly more favourable draw.

Battle Borne is given five pounds by his rider and is two pounds lower than when he ran well here over a furlong shorter a week ago.

Last of all is a mile and a half handicap (20.30). This looks like a competitive race, with Not Just Any Eagle looking able to run to at least a place with seven-pound claimer Robyn Donoghue-Leahy on board.

It’s Tribal Moon, though, who looks the most interesting in a first-time visor at the bottom of the weights. He is on an easy mark now and runs for a yard in good form.
