Take a look ahead with a preview and tips for today’s eight-race meeting at Dundalk Stadium

There’s more all-weather action at Dundalk Stadium today with another exciting eight-race card to get stuck into. The afternoon’s sport consists of four handicaps, three maidens and a claiming race.

Read on for a preview of tips for the Dundalk card, brought to you by BOYLE Sports, who have all the horse racing betting information.

Our opener is a mile claiming race (14.00). Blooming Rose is still unexposed and should appreciate the step up in trip here, while Glyndwr is on what should be a winnable mark now.

He is given 10 pounds by his claiming rider, but is out of form as of late. Sherekiya is better than her latest start and could have a chance on all-weather debut, but Venetian is easier to make a case for.

A mile handicap follows (14.30). Howyoulikethat’s mark has reduced significantly this term and he has been freshened up ahead of this, so could now be able to win.

He has a lot of weight to shoulder, though, and the likes of Red Hugh O’Donnell, who is now below his latest winning mark, could be a big danger to him from stall two. The third race is a two-year-old fillies’ maiden run over seven furlongs (15.00).

There are several newcomers in here, making it a tough race to really judge, but Aidan O’Brien’s Nevermindtherain is absolutely the best of those with form.

She has placed in Group company, and this will be much easier, plus she has the benefit of five pounds from her claiming rider.

A seven-furlong two-year-olds’ maiden follows (15.30). Mudyrk and Golden Idol are the best of those with form, the former having been narrowly beaten on good ground, while the latter placed on heavy ground.

It’s hard to compare the two, but Golden Idol has a much easier draw here. Jacob’s Journey must be taken seriously, however, after a promising debut over course and distance.

Next is the first division of a seven-furlong handicap (16.00). Battleforsupremacy went well last time out on this mark and could do so again from the innermost draw.

Also drawn nicely, though, is course and distance winner Macadam’s Rock, who finished midfield here when last seen in April and has dropped sharply in the handicap since. If he’s fit and ready, he’s a player.

In the second division (16.30), Una Matata looks handy after being a close third over course and distance last time, and starts on the same mark today.

Whistling Jamsie looks competitive on a new low mark, but is drawn rather wide. More attractively drawn is Shamanka in first-time blinkers and has five pounds in hand from Jack Cleary.

Second to last is a six-furlong two-year-olds’ maiden (17.00). Crayons In The Sky has been useful so far, including over course and distance last time and is a highly rated individual.

Belle Parvenue has been good also over shorter trips and might prefer the extra furlong here, while Normanton could improve from a difficult debut on testing ground.

Finally, racing concludes with a mile and a half handicap (17.30). Coolnagrattan is down a pound from last time and could do this, while Pepper Noir might be able to bounce back from two very poor recent starts, having come down the handicap by a good margin.

Celtic Druid is one to consider also, on a very appealing mark with a seven-pound claimer in the saddle.
