THE Reaghstown Community Alert Table Quiz held in Aclint Hall on Good Friday was a tremendous success with twenty teams taking part in what proved to be a very enjoyable night. Quiz Master was Stephen Campbell who performed his task with the usual panache and expertise. Congratulations to the winning team “Pint Less” who scored 74 points with in second place the threesome team of “The Gooners” with 69 points. It was a close run contest from the very start with three teams, “Brains of the Bog”, “We’ve Started so Well” and “The Danny Boyles” sharing third place with 68 points each. RCA would like to thank all those who helped make the contest such a success. THE Cycle against Suicide will start in Dublin on April and travel along the coast to promote awareness (cycleagainstsuicide.com) and on the final day-Sunday May 5th hundreds of cyclists will cycle (11am) from Dundalk to Ardee (12noon) where they will stop for lunch at Ardee Community School, who have agreed to open specially for this worthy cause on this May bank holiday weekend. The Ardee Traders & Business Association together with Ardee Cycling Club will assist the Community School, and we would be grateful for any volunteers to help us out. THE Creative Writing Course under the auspices of Reaghstown Community Alert with teacher Mary Toft from the VEC will recommence this morning Tuesday April 9th 10am to 12noon. The sessions are free and it isn’t too late to join in.
THERE are still places available for our trip to Belfast on Wednesday May 22nd. This trip costs €59 and is open to everyone. The coach will depart from Dooley’s of Edmondstown car park at 9am, there will be tea and scones in Sportsman Inn before departing for Belfast where we will visit the Titanic Museum followed by a guided tour of Belfast. Then there will be some free time for shopping in Belfast City. We will return to Sportsman Inn for a 2 course meal and arrive back home at 9pm approximately. All this is covered by the €59 price. COMMUNITY Games Athletic training for the parish of Reaghstown/Tallanstown/Clonkeen are now in session on every Friday evening in the Westerns Pitch from 6pm to 7pm weekly from the age of 6yrs to 15yrs, weather permitting. The training sessions are fully supervised and Insured by County Louth Community Games Committee members.
