Congratulations and well done to Kerri Halpenny and Nicholas Brennan both Edmondstown who reached the National Final of the Credit Union Schools Quiz held in the RDS recently. They attend 4th class in Tallanstown National School and qualified to represent the north east region for the under 11 section of this prestigious national competition.
There were over 25,000 children who participated in the different rounds of the competition this year and Kerri and Nicholas’s team together with Ben English and Jack Mahoney-Thyius were one of the final fifty who gathered in the RDS. They thoroughly enjoyed the big day and got to meet the compere of the event Marty Whelan. They were ably supported on the day by their families, their teachers
Master Minnock and Principal Brendan Murphy and they also received lots of messages of good wishes from
friends and classmates. They are looking forward to next year’s rounds already!
