The local ICA Guild meet this Wednesday May 8 in the Community Centre at 8.00pm. New members always welcome.


Kilkerley Emmets 25 week lotto draw, week 10 had a Jackpot of €4,300 of which there was

no winner. Numbers drawn were: 5, 10, 16, 17. Winners of €20 each were: Gerry McElroy c/o S McElroy, Kathleen Mulholland c/o S McEneaney, Gavin Dillon c/o Kennedys,

Bernadette Gogarty c/o G Callan, Teresa Oakes c/o Kennedys Bar. Your support for the lotto fundraiser is much appreciated. Jackpot this week was €4,400.


Interviews for Gaeltacht Scholarships will take place this Saturday May 11, in Louth GAA Centre of Excellence, Darver commencing at 10.00am. There are five U-14 and five U-16

scholarships available to successful applicants for Coláiste Bhríde, Rann na Feirste and other Coláistí, sponsored by An Coiste Chondae, CLG. Applicants must have an interest in the Irish language and be recommended by their local GAA Club. It is essential that consent of parents/ guardians be confirmed for applications to be accepted. Completed forms must be returned by Friday 3rd May. Forms should be forwarded to Suzanne Ní Mharcaigh, or posted to 9 Matson Lodge, Droichead Átha, Contae Lú.

Bowls Club

Our own Leagues will be finalised over the next few weeks so members are asked to attend weekly to play for the Open Singles, Ladies Singles, Pairs & Triples titles. Membership fees for the 2013/2014 season are now due. New members are needed so why not give Bowls a try. Bowls continue each Wednesday night at 7.45pm in the Community Centre.

Dancing in Centre

Dancing in the Community Centre this Sunday night May 12 with music by Blue Magic. Housty play on May 19 and Showbud on May 26, Country Pride on June 2, Curtis Magee on

June 9, Brian McDermott on June 16, Country Traditions on June 23 and J&S Sound on June 30. Dancing from 9.30pm to 12.30am.


The Club need adult female volunteer Leaders so if you are interested please contact the Club and full training will be provided. Activity for members each Friday night from 8.30pm in the Community Centre.

Parish news

The Finance Committee meet this Wednesday May 8 in the Parochial House and the Parish Pastoral Council meet on Tuesday May 28 at 8.00pm in the Parochial House. The Armagh Diocesan Pilgrimage takes place on May 26 the feast of the Most Holy Trinity.


Kilkerley Badminton Club continues in the Community Centre each Tuesday night from 8.00pm to 9.30pm, new members very welcome. Coaching available. Contact Andrew Daly

Emmet’s GFC

Club lotto jackpot was €4,400 this week. The senior team’s good league run came to an end

on Thursday last when they lost to O’Raghallaigh’s 2-6 to 0-10 with 0-7 for Shane Lennon and 0-1 each for Cathal Bellew, Niall Lennon and Conaill McEneany. The rest of senior

league games schedule is as follows – Plunkets (H) this Friday at 7.30pm, St Pats (A), Martins (H), Cooley (A), Dreadnots (H), Sean O’Mahoneys (A), Mattock Rangers (H). The junior side lost 3-7 to 1-7 at home to Na Piarsaigh, with Conall McEneany 0-1, Ray Mulholland 0-4, Ciaran Clarke 0-1, Niall Lennon 0-1 and 1-0 for James Shiels. On this Friday May 10 the U-12 team are away to Gaels. Summer Cul Camps take place in Kilkerley and Knockbridge from July 22 to July 26 and in Roche from July 29 to August 2. In total there will be 23 camps in Louth this year commencing July 1 and end Friday August 16.

More coaches are needed and anyone interested in coaching can download an application form the County Website. Application forms should be returned to or posted to Francie McMullen, Louth GAA Centre of Excellence, Darver, Readypenny. Closing date for all applications is Friday May 17.
