Glyde Rangers lotto results for Tuesday April 30th are as follows, numbers drawn 1, 18, 24 and 26. There were no jackpot or match three winners. Two winners of €50 each were, J Kirk

and Mary, Polly and Michael. R McDonnell won the €20 house draw and A Nulty won the €20 seller’s prize. Next week’s jackpot will be worth €11,300 and the draw will be held in


Holiday Draw

The Glyde Rangers club are currently selling tickets for a massive holiday draw. The draw will take place on Saturday June 1st. The prizes are as follows. 1st prize is a seven night stay

at a four star beach side hotel in the Algarve, including flights and transfers. 2nd prize is a week-end away for two to see Manchester United or Liverpool play live in the premier league including two nights hotel, tickets, coach and ferry travel. 3rd prize romantic week-end away in the Slieve Russell Hotel, Ballyconnell, two night’s bed and breakfast plus evening meal. Tickets are €3 each or two for €5, and they will be available from all members of the men’s and ladies committees and local businesses.

Whist winners

The whist results for last week were as follows: Top score – R Sweeney; 1st lady – B Malone; 1st gent – N Malone; Sweep – T Sharkey and R Caraher; Raffle – R Caraher, B Malone and W Conlon.

Tidy Towns

Tidy Towns work sessions are taking place this year on Monday and Wednesday evenings commencing at 7pm. We meet at the Old School and if any member of the community has

time to come along and take part, they will be made very welcome.

National Spring Clean

National Spring Clean is Ireland’s biggest anti-litter campaign. National Spring Cleanencourages people from all walks of life to take pride in their local environment and to take action against litter. It ran for the whole month of April. Tallanstown tidy towns committee in conjunction with our neighbours Louth tidy towns committee participated in the National

Spring Clean on Saturday April 27th at 10am. Despite First Holy Communion taking place in Tallanstown the on the day, both communities turned out in tremendous numbers to clean the

roads from Tallanstown to Louth via the two roads to Mullacrew. Showing the interest both communities have in keeping their village litter refreshments were served afterwards in Spar

Tallanstown for all who took part.

Following on from Saturday’s successful event on Monday April 29th the residents of the Chapel Road decided to do a spring clean of their road. Such is the interest in keeping their

environment litter free every house on the road was represented, the volunteers cleaned as faras Springhill. Sixteen black bin bags of rubbish were added to the skip which was provided

for the spring clean. Congratulations to the residents for the taking the initiative and getting out and keeping the countryside clean.

Community Games Athletic Area Finals.

The Area Finals will be held in Reaghstown on Friday May 10th @ 6pm in the Westerns playing field, anyone between the age of 6 up to 15 and from the following area Reaghstown/

Tallanstown/Clonkeen may compete.

If you have any old buttons please drop them into the Old School in Tallanstown for a project

that we are hoping to undertake. Unfortunately the buttons cannot be attached to anything.

The children of 6th class in Vere Foster National School Tallanstown will receive the sacrament of confirmation in St Malachy’s Church Reaghstown on Thursday May 9th . We wish them the very best of luck on this important day in their lives.
