Carlingford is set to sparkle once again as Adventure Lights returns for its second year at Skypark
Carlingford is set to sparkle once again as Adventure Lights returns for its second year at Skypark with it running for ten weeks from October 25 to January 3.
Following the phenomenal success of last year’s debut — which attracted close to 30,000 visitors and gave a welcome boost to the local economy — Adventure Lights is back, bigger, brighter, and set to cast Carlingford in a whole new light.
This year’s event invites families, groups, and adventurers of all ages to step into the magical Legends of the Forest, where over half a million lights, 16 dazzling displays, and an expanded Kids’ Adventure Zone will transform Skypark into one of Ireland’s most unique winter wonderlands.
Visitors can expect brand-new illuminated figures, interactive moments, free face painting for kids, and plenty of surprises along the trail — making it a completely fresh experience, even for returning guests.

“We were overwhelmed by the response to last year’s Adventure Lights.
"It was incredible to see so many families making memories in Carlingford,” said Edward Fuller, General Manager at Skypark.
“This year, we’ve made the experience even more spectacular, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back for another magical winter adventure.”
Along the softly lit outdoor trail, guests will encounter glowing installations that celebrate adventure, legends, and discovery, including:
- Ireland’s Ancient East Maze – now aglow with illuminated icons to explore
- Skynet at Night – bounce through giant adventure nets under twinkling lights
- Magical Light Trail – wander through shimmering tunnels and glowing sculptures
- Hunt for Clues – follow riddles and hidden secrets along the trail to spark curiosity and wonder
- Kids’ Zone – a world of play, fun, and surprises for little adventurers
- Street food and sweet treats – perfect for warming up under the stars
- Free face painting for kids – adding extra colour and sparkle
“Adventure Lights is about more than dazzling displays — it’s about creating shared moments for families, friends, and visitors from near and far,” said Thomas McArdle, CEO of McArdle Adventure Group.
“Carlingford has always been a place of adventure, and this event celebrates that spirit in a magical new way. We’re proud to see Adventure Lights becoming a highlight of Ireland’s winter calendar.”
Last year’s event proved its value to the region, with visitors extending stays in local hotels and restaurants — supporting jobs and businesses throughout the Cooley Peninsula during the quieter winter months.
With its mix of adventure, discovery, and festive magic, Adventure Lights at Skypark promises to be one of Ireland’s standout winter experiences for 2025 — perfect for families, schools, and groups looking for a unique seasonal day out.
Don’t miss the chance to create magical memories this winter in Carlingford — and enjoy all the adventure, food, and hospitality the Cooley Peninsula has to offer.
Adventure Lights is proudly supported by Fáilte Ireland and Louth County Council.
Skypark is Ireland’s largest adventure park, offering a thrilling mix of land and sky activities — from Ireland’s longest aerial adventure course and ziplining fun to footgolf, archery, and aeroball. Designed for all ages and abilities, Skypark is where adventure truly takes flight.
