Talk set to shed light on the history of beekeeping in Louth

The Dunleer and District Historical Society are set to host a lecture on the history of bees and beekeeping in County Louth.

With our bees in the news recently and mentioned often in the role they play in the continued sustainability of our food sources, Eoghan Mac Giolla Coda will shed light on the story of bees in the Wee County.

Eoghan is a fourth generation award winning beekeeper and his Lannleire honey is produced by honey bees using nectar from plants growing in the meadows, hedgerows, woodlands and mountains of County Louth.

Eoghan’s lecture is the 2025 Padraig Faulkner Memorial Lecture and will take place on Thursday 23rd October at 8.00pm in the Market House, Main Street, Dunleer A92V2N7. All welcome
