Running from from 2pm on 12 September until 2pm on 13 September, Relay For Life brought the local community together to celebrate cancer survivors and remember those who have been lost to cancer.
This year marked the first time the event has been held in the town since the last one 11 years ago.
Participants teamed up and took it in turns to walk through the day and night, with someone always on the move during the 24-hour period.
A key feature of the Relay For Life is the survivors’ lap, where cancer survivors who have lived or are living with cancer opened the event with a special celebratory lap of the track.
Along with the relay, the event saw charity haircuts take place, a Candle of Hope ceremony, and also music and entertainment.
There was also merchandise for sale and raffles throughout the day.
The funds raised at Relay For Life are essential to enable the Irish Cancer Society to provide free, vital support services to people affected by cancer across Ireland and to fuel ground-breaking cancer research.
