There’s a World Cup coming up quickly on the horizon and thank the lord for it. A season that promised a climax of orgasmic proportions is, frankly, beginning to teeter out to a depressingly flat end.
Only a week and a half ago, there was a three-way tussle at the top and a relegation battle involving half the league. Fast forward those ten days or so and it looks like the title is now Manchester City’s to lose and two of the relegation spots have been gobbled up, so to speak, by Fulham and Cardiff with Norwich clinging on for dear life with a fighting draw at Stamford Bridge.
With so little to play for over the last week or so of the season, our gaze turns towards Brazil and the World Cup. One month of footballing gloriousness pervading our lives. Just don’t remind the other half.
