Dundalk FC pair Chris Shields and Michael Duffy have been nominated for the SWAI Player of the Month award for August.
It follows an impressive month for the duo, where Shields particularly caught the eye, while Duffy came into the reckoning for a call-up to the Republic of Ireland senior international team - something which looks likely when his permit clearance comes through.
A strong run of results saw the Lilywhites return to the top of the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division table in August.
The other nominees are Sligo Rovers' Raffaele Cretaro, Brendan Clarke (St. Patrick's Athletic), Conor Davis of UCD and Finn Harps' Ciarán Gallagher.
The award winner will be announced next week.
