NEFL Division Two

Bailieboro Celtic 1-6 Bay FC

Quadri 'Q' Olowo immediately set out his stall for the Division Two top-scorer gong on Friday night as his five goals helped Bay FC to a romping victory away to Bailieboro Celtic.

The prolific striker took only two minutes to open his account as Damien Bellew's charges got their return to the third tier off to a memorable start.

Alfonso Crespo then provided his second assist for Olowo, who made it 2-0, just minutes later. And, while the Cavan side reduced the deficit to the minimum midway through the opening period, new signing Shaun O'Connor and a third for Olowo ensured the Rock Road men led resoundingly at the break, 4-1.

Olowo fired a second half brace, firstly showing strength and awareness to hold off marker and fire to the top corner before O'Connor teed him up for another.

For a team with three starters on debut, it was a mightily impressive opening round win for Bay, who sit atop the league as a result.
