Cooley Kickhams 1-15 O'Raghallaigh's 1-6

Cooley Kickhams are up and running for the new season after claiming a nine-point victory over O’Raghallaigh’s at Fr. McEvoy Park on Sunday morning.

Both sides were short a number of their established players and in the first-half it was Cooley who had the better of things as they kicked a number of well-taken scores, including efforts from Fearghal Malone and Michael Rafferty.

The O’Raghs found it difficult to match their opponents, but they remained in contention thanks to a goal from Kevin Magee to help to cut the gap to 0-11 to 1-2 at the break.

The second-half saw Cooley in no mood to allow their opponents back into the game and a goal from Michael Kane helped ensure they reached the final whistle with a comfortable nine-point advantage.
