Number of walkovers in Louth GAA games has more than doubled in last two-years

The number of club games in Louth resulting in walkovers has risen by more than double in the last two-years.

Of the 652 games fixed since January, 55 resulted in teams offering walkovers/failing to field. 30 games were put down as walkovers in 2016 with the tally being at 25 in 2015.

The adult reserve team leagues saw the most walkovers with 11 in Division Four and 13 each in Divisions Five and Six.

CCC secretary Declan Byrne labelled the issue as ‘worrying’ in his report published at last Tuesday night's Convention.
