SHAMROCK Youths maintained their great start to the 2012 Fyffes Dundalk Summer League Premier Division by coming back from two goals down to beat St Dominic’s in Fatima last week.
The Doms raced into a two goal lead on Wednesday night last but by half-time the home side were back on level terms.
Kevin O’Hanlon, with his first goal of the season, gave the Saints an early lead and Thomas Woods doubled their advantage with his third strike in as many games.
A quickly taken free saw Ross Moran head past Maxi McAllister to put Shamrocks back in the game and just before half-time, man of the match Ciaran Clarke caught the keeper out with a delightful lob from a very acute angle to put the home side back on level terms.
Buoyed by their first-half fight-back, the Youths took charge of the second-half and Derek Rogers saw his shot take a deflection to put the Fatima outfit in front for the first time in the game.
The three points were secured for Shamrocks late on when Ross Moran headed Barry Casey’s flick to the net for his 5th goal of the season.
Clarke, Casey, Anto Reilly and Rian Hand were outstanding for the winners while Paul Martin, Thomas Woods and Kevin O’Hanlon gave their best for the Doms.
