Rangers U11 0-3 Muirhevnamór U11
Rangers began the game in blistering style when straight from the kick off Martin Og O’Brien burst through the Muirhevnamor defence to fire a tremendous effort towards the goal but the ball smashed back off the post.
And although it was Rangers who looked lively from the start it was Muirhevnamor who opened the scoring on 11 minutes when Michael Stokes slotted home from inside the box.
Rangers responded almost immediately when Kyle Dyffy got in behind the Muirhevnamor defence but ‘keeper Calvin Alhuele was alert to the danger and won the race to the ball to clear away to safety.
Michael Stokes was unlucky not to double the lead for Muirhevnamor in the 21st minute but Rangers ‘keeper Dami Agana produced a brilliant save to deny Stokes and at the other end Kyle Duffy’s perfect cross found the unmarked Martin Og O’Brien but his header was tuned around the post by Calvin Alhuele.
Goal chances were hard to come by in the second half but it was Muirhevnamor who got the all important second goal 13 minutes after the break when Michael Stokes’s corner kick was deflected into the home net by two unlucky Rangers defenders who tried to clear the ball.
The game was over as a contest two minutes later when Liitan Aumyo added a third goal for the away side as Rangers pressed forward and were left exposed in defence.
