Dundalk had been victorious in the first leg of this encounter and it was obvious from the first whistle that the Starlets had upped their game and from the first tip signalled they meant business.

Indeed within the first five minutes, Starlets had run in three scores but a galvanised Dundalk got their defensive play together with skillful tagging winning turnover after turnover, resulting in tries for Jessica Malone, Deborah Malone and Niamh Belton and by half time the teams were tied. Dundalk put in a huge second half with a particularly good defensive game by Niamh and Aoife Craven, to the delight of the coaches.

The ever improving Deborah Malone put in a huge game on the wing, sneaking in four tries in total. Shona Kelly on her side ran in a crucial try which tied the sides with 5 minutes to go. Alas in the final minutes of the game Starlets scored a further try, denying Dundalk a much sought after away win.

Zoe Valentine led her side well in her game and commitment. Dundlak left with a defeat but can take comfort from a robust, hard fought game.
