The Irish Construction Excellence Awards (ICE Awards) have announced the 2025 season finalists, with two projects completed in Dundalk nominated across four categories.

Established in 1993, the ICE Awards have become the premier recognition of performance excellence for construction in Ireland, highlighting innovation, quality, and dedication within the sector.

The 3D printed homes project at Grange Close completed by Harcourt Technologies Ltd has been nominated in three categories: Innovation in Construction, Residential Social & Affordable and Specialist or Specialist Services Contract.

Meanwhile the Dúiche Roden project in Dundalk completed by  O’Hare McGovern with van Dijk / Cluid / Sonas has been nominated in the Residential Social & Affordable category.

The ICE Awards cover a broad range of categories in such areas as Residential, Civil Engineering, Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare and Education, and associated industry awards for Health, Safety & Wellbeing, Construction Product, Third-Level Course, Industry Contribution and introduced for 2025 a ‘Future Leader’ category which highlights emerging talent in the industry.

The finalists were selected by an expert panel of judges assembled from various construction disciplines, including construction management, engineering, architecture, construction technology and cost management.

The judging process included an interview stage in the Convention Centre Dublin in February for selected categories, where finalists presented their projects and engaged in Q&A sessions with the Judges, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation process.

Experts from across the AEC disciplines have been assembled to judge the entries. The ICE Awards Judging Process is multi-level with a team of judges reviewing every entry and scoring with their expertise in mind.

The winners will be announced at the ICE Awards Gala Event on May 1, 2025, at The Convention Centre Dublin. The event will be hosted by Neil Delamere, one of Ireland's top comedy acts.

Colin Walsh, ICE Awards Media Director said:

"The Irish Construction Excellence Awards continue to highlight the remarkable talent and innovation within the construction industry. This year's finalists have set new benchmarks in quality and sustainability, reflecting the dynamic nature of Irish construction. We encourage everyone to participate in the 'Project of the Year' voting and join us in celebrating Ireland's best building projects."
