With competitions continuing unabated at Ravensdale Lodge, registered ponies join the already tight schedule of leagues at the centre on Thursday evening from 5pm.
This will be the first week of registered ponies in 2014 as they join the horses who jump from 11am the same day.
Halfway through the winter and spring season, show organisers are already looking at the forthcoming spring and summer run of shows which commence in the first week of May.
There will be the usual mix of registered show jumping, combined with the ever popular training shows which run every Friday throughout the year. Dressage, cross jump and arena eventing will complete the comprehensive list of competitions which are set to run over the summer, full details of which will be announced and published in the coming weeks.
Spring leagues continue this week with the Crowne Plaza SJI registered horse league set once again for Thursday from 11am with the usual modified classes from 80cm (M) to 1.30m (M). Registered ponies will follow from 5pm with the usual 128cm, 138cm and 148cm classes on offer for all ponies looking for points.
Horse and pony training continues Friday evening from 5.30pm and this is an ideal opportunity to jump a well designed registered track with classes from X poles to 1.10m.
Mackin’s Horse Feeds, Newry sponsor the indoor arena eventing league which run on Saturday afternoon from 2pm for the 70cm class, 3pm for the 85cm class and 4pm for the 1m class.
Indoor dressage concludes the weekly competitions at Ravensdale Lodge on Sunday afternoon, this well supported league kicks off at 2pm and weekly classes can be found on the Ravensdale Lodge website.
Friday evening’s horse and pony training league, Saturday afternoon’s indoor arena eventing league and Sunday afternoon’s dressage league are all part of the “Smart Leagues Initiative” which is a new concept at Ravensdale Lodge.
