Dundalk swimming star Jordan Byrne is the latest talented Irish youngster to start making waves.
The U13 ace was in action at the 2014 All Ireland Championships at Blanchardstown’s Aquatic Centre.
He turned in some outstanding displays in the pool there to take home two national medals at the Summer Open which took place on July 16-20 with 900 competitors.
He beat off the competition to win silver in the 400m freestyle and followed that up with a bronze in the 200m backstroke.
Jordan, 13, swims with the Aer Lingus Swim Club located near Dublin Airport as well as for the Leinster side, having swam with Newry before where he enjoyed great success before moving clubs in March.
His dedication sees the Medebawn teen wake at 4am to travel to the capital for two hour training sessions before returning for school at the Christian Brothers.
He is set to train with Ireland next year and will represent Louth in next month’s Community Games.
