Grammar student jumps to victory at Pony trials
Dundalk Grammar School student James McQuade was victorious at the recent Irish Pony Club Red Mills Horse Trials Qualifier on June 23.

Dundalk Grammar School student James McQuade was victorious at the recent Irish Pony Club Red Mills Horse Trials Qualifier on June 23.

The event, run by the Louth and Oriel Branch of the Irish Pony Club, was held at the McGuinness Farm at Circle T Ranch in Dromiskin.

Riding Master Harney, Trim native James, who is a member of Meath Hunt Pony Club, came top of his section which included almost 30 competitors.

His club-mate, Tess Meade, was also successful on the day.

The event consisted of three phases, dressage, show jumping and a challenging cross country course. The rider who finishes with the least number of faults is the winner.
