Gerard Reilly Dublin and formerly of Tullycomiskey, Castleshane, Monaghan passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family early Thursday morning on the 4th of April 2019.
He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Michael and Mary Reilly and survived by his wife and Companion Patricia, children Cynthia, Michael, Geraldine, Francis, Charlene and Keith, sons and daughter-in-law his grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers and sisters in law. All of Gerard’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those who called to the house, travelled to the funeral and the burial, offered their sympathies and sent Mass cards.
Gerard’s family would also like to express their sincerest gratitude and appreciation for the care, attention and respect the staff in the Matter hospital, in Wellmount clinic and the palliative nurses from St Francis hospice gave to Gerard. Gerard’s Requiem mass was celebrated in St Canice’s Church Finglas on Saturday the 6th of April by Fr. Michael Sheilds and was interred in St Laurence’s graveyard Omeath by Fr. Oliver Standsfield. Gerard was well known for his warm welcome and he always had a friendly word for anyone he passed.
He was a huge sports enthusiast and enjoyed nothing more than chatting about the latest match with his many friends. Above all else, Gerard was a dedicated family man who spent many happy years working at Unidare in Finglas to provide for his family. Following Retirement Gerard had devoted himself to enjoying more time with his wife Patricia and doting on his many grandchildren who loved him dearly. Gerard will be dearly missed by all of us but will be forever in our hearts.
