Judge James Faughnan was welcomed on his first appearance, and a newly qualified member of the solicitor profession was introduced on Wednesday and both wished well at Dundalk Court.
Miss Miska Hanahoe is attached to local firm McGuill & Company where she completed her training, and was introduced to Judge James Faughnan and the Court by Mr Roger McGinley.
Mr McGinley said that Miss Hanahoe was a “Dub.” She was daughter of Ernie and Annabel and attended Alexander College and UCD.
Her father had displayed very good judgement in asking his friend and colleague Conor McGuill President of the Louth Bar Association, if he would provide training for Miska with the result “she is now today with us as a new colleague.”
“Her bent in the law given her background and training will come as no surprise –the area of criminal law and related areas. I’m very pleased to welcome her here today,” said Mr. McGinley.
She was wished “every fulfilment and success in a long and happy career.”
Garda Inspector Brendan Cadden welcomed Judge Faughnan on his first day sitting in the court.
Representatives of the Probation Service and Court Service joined in the well wishes.
Judge Faughnan also welcomed Miss Hanahoe.
