A 27 year-old local woman who damaged two small windows in an Ardee restaurant was offered the chance to preserve her clear record by paying compensation.
Suzanne Callan of Duffys Flats, Ardee appeared before the local district court charged with causing €500 damage at the Hillside Bar, Market Street in the town on March 12th.
Solicitor Paul Eaton said she had collected €200, and asked for time to pay the balance. Judge Patrick McMahon put the case back to July 8th for her to do that and recommended if she did no order be made in the case.
Mr Eaton explained that the defendant became annoyed when a disagreement developed between two people, one of whom was in her company. She was unemployed and had made quite an effort to collect the €200. She had a clear record.
