ARDEE Town Council is planning to mark this Gathering year with a Baroque Festival event that honours those who gave their services to the people of Ardee.

The council hopes to invite to former members of the town council and commissioners and families to a special Baroque Festival function in November.

“These people worked their socks off for Ardee,” said Cllr Michael Farrelly.

“It would be nice to remember them. Those who are thankfully still with us , and those who have passed on.”

It is also hoped to hold a reception at the Ferdia Arms for the special guests.

“The council will disappear off the map next year and Ardee will have no council. If you want a pot hole fixed in Ardee you will have to email Dublin,” Cllr Farrelly said.
